Rael Jones is a Composer and Multi-Instrumentalist, based in London.
Technically adept and flexible, he has adopted many roles on feature films including Music Editor, Music Producer, Orchestrator, Music Programmer, Session Musician, Sound Designer and Dialogue Editor.
Recently, Rael worked on Tom Hooper's film adaptation of Les Misérables as Additional Orchestrator, Music Editor and Music Programmer, and reprised his role as Additional Composer on the second series of BBC's Sherlock, working with Composers David Arnold and Michael Price. Other Additional Composition credits include Horrid Henry: The Movie and Island - starring Natalie Press and Colin Morgan.
He has composed for Oscar-Nominated Director Ashvin Kumar's film Dazed in Doon, Nyima Cartier's debut feature White Lie, as well as TV series such as Channel 4's Picture This and Channel 5's Best House in the Street.
Other notable Film credits include The Inbetweeners Movie and Hyde Park on Hudson (both as Music Editor), and Wild Target and Wild Child (as Music Producer).
Rael has a very strong musical background, rooted in classical training from the age of 6. He graduated from the Tonmeister Course with First Class Honours, winning both available prizes for Composition. His writing stems from improvisation and live performance, and he is a highly accomplished player of many instruments: from Piano, Guitars and Drums to quirkier items like Autoharp and Musical Saw.
Never one to shy from the limelight, Rael regularly plays gigs around the UK, including touring and TV appearances as a guitarist with Guillemots front man Fyfe Dangerfield. He has also appeared on BBC One's Junior Apprentice, as a composer working with the finalists.
